Replication of micro- and diffractive optical elements

Abstract

Replication technology for moulding optical surface relief structures into polymer or sol-gel material combines extremely high resolution capability with low-cost mass production potential. In this paper we summarise the main replication technologies used for optical micro- and nano-structures and give examples of developments and products.
