Bridging the Gap in Research Information with PIDs for Academic Events

Abstract

In this presentation, the service and several use-cases of PIDs for academic events will be introduced. This includes e.g. usage in current research information systems, and for investigations in the field of science on science: Conferences have a specific role in the scientific system structure, which also reflects the respective social conditions (e.g. on topics such as sustainability, equity of access).,Furthermore an analysis of the Datacite DOIs and the associated metadata will be provided. The overview includes coverage of different properties, eg. spatial and temporal data, contributing organizations, or the distribution of the currently available DOIs on Fields of Science which represent various reuse scenarios for ConfIDent data.
