Abstract
Final report of the study Ground Support Infrastructure for Air Taxi Landing Ports within the joint LUFO project CNS-ALPHA.
The project aims at defining and testing ground-based elements supporting electrically powered and vertically operated air taxis in urban environments with particular consideration on the approach and departure airspace of vertiports.
A main focus was put on establishing a compact primary radar sensor, able to detect and classify drones and other obstacles ín approach and departure airspace of vertiports. This capability is intended to support preserving airspace clearance or provide early detection of potential conflicts so they can be avoided.
