Abstract
As part of the "WIR! – Land Innovation Lausitz" alliance, the iEnergy Solutions project is developing innovative concepts for integrating solar energy and agriculture. The focus is on analysing agricultural systems and the crop production under the influence of various PV technologies. To establish these approaches as demonstrators, the ecological impacts were investigated in ground-mounted PV system and in an agri-PV horticultural system. Supplementary economic and agronomic assessments are being used to develop a holistic concept for integrating solar energy into the multifunctional agricultural landscape, incorporating the findings on production ecology directly. The aim is to optimally integrates future PV systems into the agricultural landscape and thus promote the region’s agricultural transformation in the spirit of a "sustainable bio-economy". To ensure practical implementation, stakeholders were also actively involved through one-to-one discussions and workshops; the insights gained from these form the foundation for the newly emerging living lab for Energy and Landscape in Lusatia.
