iECO - Intelligente empowerment of construction industry: Innovative und praxisnahe Anwendungen im iECO-Datenraum basierend auf Gaia-X Services und Data Governance entlang des gesamten Bauwerkslebenszyklus

Abstract

Das Verbundprojekt iECO – intelligent Empowerment of COnstruction Industry hatte zum Ziel, auf Basis von Gaia-X einen offenen, vertrauenswürdigen Datenraum für die Bauwirtschaft zu entwickeln und durch Advanced Smart Services innovative, praxisnahe Anwendungen entlang des gesamten Bauwerkslebenszyklus bereitzustellen. Methodisch wurden dafür die Gaia-X Federation Services angepasst, ein Participant Portal zur erleichterten Teilnahme entwickelt und mehrere Demonstratoren in den Bereichen Planung, Genehmigung, Bauausführung, Inbetriebnahme und Betrieb realisiert. Begleitend wurde ein Data-Governance- und Rechtemanagementkonzept erarbeitet. Die Ergebnisse umfassen einen funktionsfähigen Gaia-X-konformen Datenraum, prototypisch implementierte Services (u. a. digitale Prüfprozesse, automatisierte Leistungsmeldungen, KI-gestütztes Monitoring) sowie Leitfäden und Governance-Konzepte. Diese ermöglichen eine sichere und interoperable Datennutzung über Organisationsgrenzen hinweg. Die Projektergebnisse leisten einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Digitalisierung und Produktivitätssteigerung der Bauwirtschaft. Durch die Einbindung von Forschung, öffentlicher Hand und Industrie ist die Grundlage für weitere Forschungsvorhaben, Standardisierung und kommerzielle Anwendungen geschaffen.

The joint project iECO – intelligent Empowerment of the Construction Industry aimed to develop an open, trustworthy data space for the construction industry based on Gaia-X and to provide innovative, practical applications along the entire building lifecycle through Advanced Smart Services. Methodologically, the Gaia-X Federation Services were adapted, a Participant Portal was developed to facilitate participation, and several demonstrators were realized in the areas of planning, approval, construction execution, commissioning, and operation. Accompanying this, a data governance and rights management concept was developed. The results include a functional Gaia-X-compliant data space, prototypically implemented services (including digital inspection processes, automated performance reports, AI-supported monitoring), as well as guidelines and governance concepts. These enable secure and interoperable data usage across organizational boundaries. The project results make an important contribution to the digitization and productivity increase of the construction industry. By involving research, public authorities, and industry, the foundation for further research projects, standardization, and commercial applications has been laid.
