SuperSent: KI Super-Resolution von Sentinel-2 Daten

Abstract

Das Projekt „SuperSent“ beschäftigte sich mit der Thematik der Super-Resolution (SR) Methode für die Analyse von multispektralen Satellitendaten der Sentinel-2 Satelliten der Europäischen Raumfahrtbehörde (ESA). Mit Hilfe der SR Methode konnten die ursprünglich 10m räumlich aufgelösten Satellitendaten auf eine räumliche Auflösung von 5m optimiert werden. Hierbei zeigte sich ein Mehrwert für Anwendungen, wie z.B. der Erkennung von Küsten- und Uferzonen und der Berechnung von höher aufgelöster Flachwasser-Bathymetrie. Das aufgebaute SR Model ist skalierbar in der Cloud und ermöglicht weltweite Anwendungen.

The project "SuperSent" dealt with the topic of the Super-Resolution (SR) method for the analysis of multispectral satellite data of the Sentinel-2 satellites of the European Space Agency (ESA). With the help of the SR method, the originally 10m spatially resolved satellite data could be optimised to a spatial resolution of 5m. This showed an added value for applications such as the detection of coastal and shore zones and the calculation of higher resolution shallow water bathymetry. The built SR Model is scalable in the cloud and enables worldwide applications.
