dc.description.abstract | The optical properties of float window glass in the 2300 to 5000 cm-1 (4.3 to 2.0 µm) region at temperatures from 40 to 630 °C are investigated. The absorption spectra are measured with a high-temperature accessory. The spectra of the optical constants, individual components of the absorption spectra, and also the band frequencies and intensities are calculated with the dispersion analysis method. The effect of temperature on the spectra is shown to be due to changes in the intensities of certain water-related bands. The most important intensity changes are discussed in terms of the reversible shift of an equilibrium between different structural sites for the hydroxyl group. | eng |
