The project serves to operate eROSITA (extended ROentgen Survey with an Imaging Telescope Array). eROSITA is a new wide-angle X-ray telescope that began operating in space in July 2019 as part of a German-Russian collaboration at the astrophysical observatory SRG (Spektrum-Röntgen-Gamma). It is used to search for around 100,000 galaxy clusters to characterise so-called dark energy, to search for around 3 million nuclei of active galaxies to understand structure formation on cosmological scales and to search for around 800,000 galactic X-ray sources to understand the energetics and populations of the Milky Way. Software modules for pipeline data processing were developed, in particular for source detection and parameterisation and for astrometric correction of the sources found. A first worldwide data release was realised and the catalogue for it was created. An Upper Limit Server was also created and published.eng
