Verbundprojekt SUE - Self-driving urban e-shuttle

Abstract

Der vorliegende Schlussbericht dokumentiert die Ergebnisse und Meilensteine des Verbundvorhabens SUE (Self-Driving Urban E-Shuttle). Ziel des Projekts war die Entwicklung eines voll funktionsfähigen, vollelektrischen und straßenzugelassenen People Movers, der spezifisch für den Einsatz im hochautomatisierten öffentlichen Personennahverkehr (ÖPNV) konzipiert wurde. Das Konsortium verfolgte einen ganzheitlichen Entwicklungsansatz, bei dem das Fahrzeug von Grund auf neu entwickelt wurde. Der Bericht legt die interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit der Projektbeteiligten dar, durch welche der gesamte Entwicklungsprozess des Fahrzeugs einschließlich der Software für das hochautomatisierte Fahren vollständig innerhalb Deutschlands realisiert wurde. Die erfolgreiche Realisierung eines straßenzugelassenen und funktionsfähigen Prototyps schafft eine belastbare technologische sowie regulatorische Basis, welche als Referenz für zukünftige Anwendungen der urbanen Mobilität und die Integration hochautomatisierter Shuttles in bestehende Verkehrsnetze dient.

This final report documents the outcomes and milestones achieved within the SUE (Self-Driving Urban E-Shuttle) project. The objective of the project was to develop a fully functional, electric and road-legal people mover, specifically designed for application within highly automated public transport systems. The consortium adopted a holistic development approach, engineering the vehicle entirely from the ground up. The report details the interdisciplinary collaboration between the project partners, through which the entire vehicle development process, including the software for highly automated driving, was realised fully within Germany. The successful delivery of a road-legal and operational prototype establishes a robust technological and regulatory foundation, serving as a benchmark for future urban mobility applications and the integration of highly automated shuttles into existing transport networks.
