GBOL III: Dark Taxa; Teilvorhaben: Teilprojekt 2, SNSB-ZSM München (GBOLIII_ZSM)

Abstract

A total of 24,705 insects were successfully sequenced. This resulted in an assignment to 2,747 clusters (or Barcode Index Numbers, BINs). Of the Diapriida, a diverse family of small parasitoid wasps, 5 new German species were discovered (4 published, 1 in progress). In this funding phase, our GBOL 3 sub-project thus made a significant contribution to the expansion of the German DNA reference library, focusing on particularly small insects, which opens up extensive application perspectives in science, nature conservation and industry.
