FAIR Data Spaces - Aufbau eines gemeinsamen Cloud-basierten Datenraums für Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft

Abstract

Die verantwortungsvolle Nutzung von Daten ist für Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft eine der zentralen Grundlagen für neue Erkenntnisse und Innovationen. In Deutschland und Europa gibt es daher stetige Bemühungen für Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft, leistungsfähige und unabhängige Informationsinfrastrukturen zu schaffen und den Umgang mit Daten zu fördern. Aufgabe des FAIR Data Spaces Projekt war der Aufbau eines gemeinsamen Cloud-basierten Datenraums für Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft. Unter Beachtung der FAIR-Prinzipien sollten die Datenräume der beiden Infrastrukturvorhaben Gaia-X und NFDI zusammengeführt werden. Das Arbeitspaket 1 Roadmapping und Community galt dem Aufbau einer FAIR Data Spaces Community in Deutschland und Europa, mit der gegenseitige Anknüpfungspunkte, Ziele und und eine gemeinsame Roadmap formuliert wurden. Die Arbeiten in AP1 deckten die weitreichenden Kommunikationsaktivitäten ab, um Dialog und Austausch der Communities zu fördern sowie Themen und Ergebnisse des Projektes bekannt zu machen. Der strategische Einsatz digitaler Kommunikation und die Umsetzung einer umfassenden Veranstaltungsreihe dienten dem erfolgreichen Aufbau der FAIR Data Spaces Community in Deutschland, ihrer Erweiterung auf europäischer Ebene und der fortschreitenden Internationalisierung. Es wurde eine tragfähige Grundlage für den nachhaltigen Austausch zwischen Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft geschaffen. Durch Newsletter, Podcasts, Mailings, Social Media Beiträge, die informative Webseite und diverse Veranstaltungen wurde die Community ausführlich informiert und Kontakte ausgebaut. Die Sichtbarkeit zentraler FAIR-Data-Spaces-Themen wurde gezielt erhöht, während die Projektergebnisse aktiv in die NFDI (Nationale Forschungsdateninfrastruktur) und die Gaia-X-Community zurückgeführt wurden. Mit einer kontinuierlichen und strategischen Kommunikation war FAIR Data Spaces ein zentraler Impulsgeber für die Weiterentwicklung offener und vernetzter Datenräume. The responsible use of data is one of the key foundations for new findings and innovations in science and industry. In Germany and Europe, there are therefore constant efforts for science and industry to create efficient and independent information infrastructures and to promote the management of data. The aim of the FAIR Data Spaces project was to create a shared cloud-based data space for business and science. The data spaces of the two infrastructure projects Gaia-X and NFDI (National Research Data Infrastructure in Germany) were to be merged in accordance with the FAIR principles. Work package 1 Roadmapping and Community was aimed at establishing a FAIR Data Spaces Community in Germany and Europe, with which mutual points of contact, goals and a joint roadmap were formulated. The work in WP1 covered the wide-ranging communication activities to promote dialog and exchange between the communities and to publicize the topics and results of the project. The strategic use of digital communication and the implementation of a comprehensive series of events served to successfully establish the FAIR Data Spaces community in Germany, its expansion at European level and its ongoing internationalization. A solid foundation was created for a sustainable exchange between business and science. Newsletters, podcasts, mailings, social media posts, the informative website and various events were used to keep the community well informed and expand contacts. The visibility of key FAIR Data Spaces topics was increased in a targeted manner, while the project results were actively fed back into the NFDI and the Gaia-X community. With its continuous and strategic communication, FAIR Data Spaces was a central element of the project.
