V-BRONZE - Vorstudie: Standardisierte Auswertung und Fusion von Bauwerksprüfungsdaten zur Prognose des Zustands von Verkehrstunneln

Abstract

The V-BRONZE preliminary study investigates how existing structural inspection data can be systematically processed and used to predict road tunnel condition. Due to limited availability and quality of historical records, the analysis focused on digital data from SIB-Bauwerke. Relevant damage data were structured, checked for plausibility and linked to deterministic engineering models for carbonation, chloride ingress, reinforcement corrosion and other degradation processes. An Excel/VBA prototype was developed to extrapolate individual damage progression and derive future condition ratings. The study demonstrates the feasibility of model-based condition forecasting at TRL 4, while identifying major limitations caused by insufficient data granularity, largely static inspection histories and the current SIB-Bauwerke assessment logic. Future work should focus on standardized quantitative data acquisition and tunnel-specific condition assessment for maintenance and budget planning.
