Abstract
This publication was produced as part of the research and development project “KoWaK – Strengthening Collaborative Adaptability in Manufacturing SMEs.” The KoWaK project aims to contribute to strengthening adaptability in manufacturing SMEs. To this end, the project pursues a socio-technical multi-level approach that considers the value creation processes of the participating SMEs across the entire product life cycle. The levels include the situational adaptation of business models, anticipatory and improved inter-company collaboration, and the optimization of production processes within the companies. The socio-technical specificity of the approach lies in systematically linking innovative technological developments with organizational dimensions and with the work practices and experiential knowledge of managers and employees in the development of solutions.
