A rapid, simple and sufficiently accurate procedure is described for the determination of the oxide composition of glasses and glass raw materials by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) and the results are discussed with the help of collaborative analyses. The sample weights and the concentrations of the sample and reference soludons were chosen under the aspect of the lowest possible expenditure. In general, along with the blank solution, two reference solutions are sufficient. For the determination of chromium(III) oxide and titanium dioxide addidonal sample decomposidons, and for the determination of titanium dioxide, an additional reference solution, are required.ger
