After digestion with sodium hydroxide, boron is extracted with 2-ethyl-l,3-hexanediol into chloroform. The extracted boron reacts with curcumin to a red complex, which is measured photometrieally. The working range of the method is 0.4 to 1200 μg boron per g. The determination limit (sixfold standard deviation) is 0.4 μg/g. The verification of the results for the developed analytical method with certified reference materials and DIN Standard method is excellent.enghttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/de/660Photometrie determination of trace amounts of boron in glass and nitride based materials with curcumin - New approachesArticle
