Dieser Text ersetzt keine Rechtsberatung, sondern bietet grundsätzliche Informationen, gibt Empfehlungen zum Weiterlesen für klassische Fragestellungen und verweist auf gelungene Beispiele im weiteren Feld des wissenschaftsgeleiteten Publizierens.

    In der vorliegenden Handreichung stellen wir unterschiedliche technische Ressourcen vor, die redaktionelle Arbeiten unterstützen können. Dabei empfiehlt es sich, Software und Systeme zu nutzen, die den Wandel hin zu einer offenen, niederschwelligen und nachhaltigen Wissenschaftskultur fördern. Hierzu zählt in erster Linie die Verwendung von Open-Source-Software. Unsere Empfehlungen haben dabei eine begrenzte Reichweite: Serviceanbieter, Software und Projekte sind zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt ggf. nicht mehr verfügbar. Auch sind gerade die Infrastruktureinrichtungen in das föderale Wissenschaftssystem integriert, was sie bestimmten Unwägbarkeiten aussetzt.

    Knowledge Graphs are a key technology for implementing the FAIR principles in data infrastructures by ensuring interoperability for both humans and machines. The Working Group "Knowledge Graphs" in Section "(Meta)data, Terminologies, Provenance" of the German National Research Data Infrastructure (Nationale Forschungsdateninfrastruktur (NFDI) e.V.) aims to promote the use of knowledge graphs in all NFDI consortia, to facilitate cross-domain data interlinking and federation following the FAIR principles, and to contribute to the joint development of tools and technologies that enable transformation of structured and unstructured data into semantically reusable knowledge across different domains.

    NFDI4Chem - Deliverable D3.3.1: Gap analysis report for selected repositories

    The deliverable 3.3.1 “Gap analysis report for selected repositories” aims both to identify gaps in the coverage regarding data types or disciplines and to close them through adjustments or, if necessary, new developments. In order to accomplish that, the TA3-team performed a gap analysis of the existing relevant repositories by means of individual interviews with the repository leaders. The interview consisted of a series of questions ranging from general information up to metadata standards and ontology, data contents, technical information about Authorisation and Authentication Infrastructure (AAI), API, services and functionality, operating environment as well as software architecture and workflows. The interviews will serve to establish the current degree of maturity as well as the operational fitness of the selected repositories and to derive suitable recommendations aiming to fulfil the yet missing requirements.
