    Data publication in the open access initiative

    The 'Berlin Declaration' was published in 2003 as a guideline to policy makers to promote the Internet as a functional instrument for a global scientific knowledge base. Because knowledge is derived from data, the principles of the 'Berlin Declaration ' should apply to data as well. Today, access to scientific data is hampered by structural deficits in the publication process. Data publication needs to offer authors an incentive to publish data through long-term repositories. Data publication also requires an adequate licence model that protects the intellectual property rights of the author while allowing further use of the data by the scientific community.

    Gerhart Hauptmann liest Leopardi

    Gerhart Hauptmann beschäftigte sich über einen längeren Zeitraum mit dem italienischen Dichter Giacomo Leopardi. Anhand von Tagebuchnotizen und Lesespuren in zwei deutschprachigen Leopardi-Ausgaben der nachgelassenen Bibliothek Hauptmanns rekonstruiert der Aufsatz Hauptmanns Leopardi-Rezeption (vor allem im Zeitraum 1929 und 1938), die mehr der Selbstbespiegelung im Lesen als kritischer oder produktiver Auseinandersetzung dient. Ein weiterer Abschnitt betrachtet Hauptmanns Interesse an Leopardis Biographie, das u.a. die Lesespuren im Vorwort zur Auswahl-Ausgabe von Leopardis Werken durch Ludwig Wolde bezeugen, aber auch die Anteilnahme an der biographischen Leopardi-Skizze in Herbert Eulenbergs populärem Büchlein 'Schattenbilder und Lichtbilder' (1926).

    Goportis – hoch integrierte Kooperation der Zentralen Fachbibliotheken

    Unter dem Namen „Goportis“ haben die drei Deutschen Zentralen Fachbibliotheken (ZFB) im Herbst 2006 begonnen, eine hoch integrierte Kooperation auf der Ebene gemeinsamer Produkte und Dienstleistungen und interner Geschäftsgänge aufzubauen. Die Zentralen Fachbibliotheken sind die Technische Informationsbibliothek in Hannover, die Deutsche Zentralbibliothek für Medizin in Köln/Bonn und die Deutsche Zentralbibliothek für Wirtschaftswissenschaften in Kiel/Hamburg.

    Bibliographie und Sacherschließung in der Hand vernetzter Informationsbenutzer

    The history of collaboratively administered online-bibliographies and the most important concepts of social bookmarking services (bibliography of social networks, classification through social tagging, folksonomies as personal and collabularies as collaborative vocabularies) are being depicted and discussed. To characterize the described development as a whole, the notion of a metadata revolution is being introduced. Strategies for libraries and information facilities responding to this development are proposed.

Some characteristic questions and problems of the development, opening and networking of library Services and information are mentioned.
