VIVO PIDs

Abstract

VIVO is a collaborative, open-source software and ontology designed to represent scholarly endeavors. It is sustained by its members and facilitates the recording, editing, searching, browsing, and visualization of academic activities. VIVO actively promotes the exhibition of scholarly achievements, research discoveries, expert identification, network analysis, and the assessment of research impact. Flexibility of the VIVO platform and its underlying ontology allows easy expansion to support various domains of scholarly engagement. There are more than 70 instances of VIVO across the world, including 20 instances in Europe.
