Leached antireflection surfaces Part 4. Proposed model for the neutral solution process

Abstract

A proposed mechanism for the leaching process is given which centers on the effects of Al^3+ adsorption from solution onto the glass surface. The mechanism is feit to be applicable to the behavior of a number of polyvalent metal cations known to strongly influence the aqueous corrosion of glass. Zum Verständnis der Auslaugungsprozesse wird ein Modeh vorgesteht, in dem die AI^3+-Adsorption aus der Lösung auf der Glasoberfläche die entscheidende Rolle spielt. Dieser Mechanismus kann auf zahlreiche polyvalente Metallkationen angewendet werden, von denen bekannt ist, daß sie den Korrosionsangriff des Glases in wäßrigen Lösungen stark beeinflussen.
