Application of optical testing procedures to quality control of flat glass

Abstract

Optical testing procedures applied to quality assurance of float glass production are described. Visual as well as the automatic procedures now of increasing importance are considered. The emphasis is on identification of point-like defects, determination of optical quality, surface flatness and residual stress.
