Abstract
Within the BMBF-funded collaborative project ZuSE-KI-mobil (FKZ 16ME0099, 2020–2025), T3-Technologies led the cross-industry development of an ecosystem around a newly developed AI hardware platform. The central result is a fully functional AI system-on-chip in 22FDX technology (GLOBALFOUNDRIES Dresden), achieving 10 TOPS mixed-precision performance and running flawlessly at first silicon. Five demonstrators — including an automotive BMW X5 test vehicle, drone control, and industrial space monitoring — showcased the platform's capabilities at over 25 conferences, trade fairs and training sessions. The project triggered significant commercial follow-on activities and substantially strengthened Germany's AI hardware sovereignty. The project also contributed to the formation of the national network "Chipdesign-Germany".
