SoftWert - Methodenbaukasten zur Verwertung von Forschungssoftware; Teilvorhaben: Zielgruppenorientierte Verwertungsstrategien

Abstract

Das Ziel des Vorhabens war es, Methoden zu entwickeln, welche den Verantwortlichen für den Wissens- und Technologietransfer dabei helfen sollen, die Potentiale von Forschungssoftware systematisch und dauerhaft zu erschließen. Insgesamt entstand so ein Handlungsmodell in Form eines Methodenbaukastens zur Verwertung von Forschungssoftware. Die Methoden wurden auf Basis einer umfangreichen Analyse bereits existierender Strukturen sowie durch u.a. gutachterliche Klärung offener Fragen entwickelt und prototypisch in Einrichtungen der Helmholtzgemeinschaft (DESY, GFZ, DZNE) sowie führenden Hochschulen (Universität des Saarlandes) umgesetzt. Anhand des Methodenbaukastens können die einzelnen Institute eine individuell zugeschnittene Verwertungsmethode für ihre Einrichtungen entwickeln. Der Methodenbaukasten wurde veröffentlicht in Form einer umfangreichen Website (www.softwert.org), eines Booklets und einer Publikation in einem Journal. Die Entwicklung und Erprobung des Methodenbaukastens, führte zu der Professionalisierung von Strukturen und Vorgehensweisen bei der Verwertung von Forschungssoftware am GFZ sowie einer noch stärkeren Ausrichtung des Themas bei Transfer & Innovation am GFZ. The overall result was a method toolkit for the systematic transfer and exploitation of research software. The methods were developed on the basis of a comprehensive analysis of existing structures and by clarifying open questions, for instance, through expert opinions. In addition, these methods were implemented and explored in Helmholtz institutions (DESY, GFZ, DZNE) as well as in leading universities (Saarland University). Research institutes can use the method toolkit to develop a tailored exploitation approach of research software. The method kit is presented as a comprehensive website (www.softwert.org), a booklet and a journal article. The development and testing of the method kit led to the professionalization of structures and procedures in the exploitation of research software at the GFZ and an even stronger focus on the topic of Transfer & Innovation at the GFZ.
