Possibilities of automated glass flaw monitoring on running float glass ribbon and flat windshield templets

Abstract

Subject of the following article are fundamental considerations on physics and method for glass flaw monitoring which are basis of the design of an on-line inspection equipment for automation of quality control on the running float glass ribbon. A laser scanner based on computer-aided signal evaluation, defect size classification and link to an on-line cut-optimizing computer is described.
