Abstract

The determination of fluoride in gases, raw materials and glasses has become important because of the growing environmental problems. An extraction procedure was established and improved, which is applicable for concentrations down to 0.005 % m/m in solids. The results are very satisfying. So this method is recommended for the glass industry. The coefficient of variance is 7.8 for a glass (with 203.3 ppm F-) and 7.4, respectively, for a feldspar (with 150.6 ppm F-).
