| dc.description.abstract | The PROVING project aimed to explore a simulation‑supported, probabilistic approach for the structural substantiation of aerospace components. Within an adapted Building‑Block framework, the consortium investigated how material modelling, limited testing and digital process documentation could support more efficient certification strategies in line with EASA requirements. Oerlikon AM Europe GmbH contributed by producing LPBF test specimens and demonstrators and by establishing a traceable manufacturing workflow including powder characterisation and process monitoring. The work carried out successfully delivered a proof of concept demonstrating that virtual and data‑driven methods can complement traditional test‑based approaches. The results form a foundation for further development and future research projects in simulation‑based certification of additively manufactured aerospace structures. | eng |
