Present state of glass science and technology in the USSR

The paper presents some information on the history of glass science development in Russia, short characteristics of the present state of the Soviet glass science and statements on leading institutions where glass research studies are carried out. Furthermore, a short description of the situation of the production of tableware, structural, automobile and container glass is given.
