Ausflug in eine ferne nahe Welt: Forschungsalltag 2040

Abstract

Using the young researcher Elena, we take an intentionally dystopian look at a fictional future of academic life, especially the future in the year 2040, in which we have ignored all the warning signs and questionable to negative developments since 2020 and have given in to convenience and pressure. Welcome to everyday academic life in 2040, which is not only characterised by platform economies, but also by a fragmented scientific landscape due to an economic war. Through single short scenes from one of her normal working days, we get an insight into Elena’s subjective experience of this future. At the end, she looks back and asks herself how it could have come so far.

Anhand der jungen Forscherin Elena werfen wir einen mit Absicht dystopischen Blick in die fiktive Zukunft wissenschaftlichen Arbeitens, und zwar in jene Zukunft im Jahr 2040, in der wir alle Warnzeichen und fragwürdigen bis negativen Entwicklungen seit 2020 ignoriert und der Bequemlichkeit und dem Druck nachgegeben haben. Willkommen im Forschungsalltag 2040, der nicht nur durch Plattformökonomie, sondern auch durch eine fragmentierte Wissenschaftslandschaft aufgrund eines Wirtschaftskrieges geprägt ist. Anhand einzelner kurzer Szenen aus einem ihrer normalen Arbeitstage erhalten wir Einblick in Elenas subjektives Erleben dieser Zukunft. Am Ende wirft sie einen Blick zurück und fragt sich, wie es so weit kommen konnte.
