Abstract

In the glass industry more and more glass melting furnaces are equipped with a filter plant and thus, the amount of collected dust increases. The disposal of the dust has become increasingly important. One of the various ways of disposal is the recycling of the dust in the melter. By evaporation in the melter, condensation in the chambers and collection in the filter plant, melting and fining of the glass can be disturbed. Α sudden shutdown of the filter plant can result in a high emission in the environment for a limited time. Calculations show that the enrichment of a component is increased by a low acceptance of the glass melt and a high efficiency of the filter plant for this component. Various examples are calculated.
