"Freiburg Advanced Center of Education (FACE) - Researching Practice, Practicing Research"; Ein Teilprojekt der Pädagogischen Hochschule Freiburg

Abstract

Das Freiburger Forschungsvorhaben "Freiburg Advanced Center of Education (FACE) - Researching Practice, Practicing Research" zielte mit seinem Verbundantrag auf eine fortgesetzte Profilierung und professions- wie wissenschaftsorientierte Optimierung der Lehrkräftebildung am Standort mit seinen Hochschulen Universität und Pädagogische Hochschule. Zudem bildeten eine inhaltliche Ausdifferenzierung und Vertiefung der bereits in der ersten Förderphase entwickelten Strukturen und Inhalte über alle Domänen und Phasen von Lehrkräftebildung hinweg, insbesondere die Verzahnung von Fachwissenschaft, Fachdidaktik und Bildungswissenschaften sowie von Theorie und Praxis, Schwerpunkte des Antrags. Hierfür wurden sieben Teilprojekte in den zentralen Bereichen Lehre, Forschung/ Nachwuchs, Praxis und Struktur durchgeführt. (1) Zur Stärkung der Kohärenz zwischen theoretischen und praktischen Anteilen des Studiums wurde ein Konzept zur Verzahnung des bildungswissenschaftlichen Curriculums der Hochschule mit den Begleitveranstaltungen des Integrierten Semesterpraktikums, verantwortet durch die Pädagogische Hochschule, entwickelt und erfolgreich implementiert. Um (2) die Professionsorientierung insbesondere in den fachwissenschaftlichen Anteilen des Lehramtsstudiums zusätzlich zu erhöhen, wurden spezifische Lehrveranstaltungen in verschiedenen Fächern entwickelt, die den Studierenden Kenntnisse der Unterrichtsfächer vermitteln, die in der beruflichen Praxis eine besondere Rolle spielen. (3) Inklusion und der Umgang mit Heterogenität blieben ebenfalls zentrale Kernpunkte der Tätigkeiten und wurden sowohl um den Aspekt von Deutsch als Zweitsprache erweitert als auch fachdidaktisch vertieft und über neu entwickelte Lehrmodule konkretisiert. Zur Stärkung der vertikalen Kohärenz von Wissenschaft und Praxis (4) arbeiteten Lehrkräfte, Fachwissenschaftler:innen, Fachdidaktiker:innen und weitere Akteur:innen in Professionellen Lerngemeinschaften an der gemeinsamen Entwicklung und Implementation von inklusiven Lehrveranstaltungen. Des Weiteren wurden (5) das Netzwerk der Hochschulpartnerschulen erweitert und gefestigt sowie das Angebot wissenschaftsbasierter Fortbildungen für Lehrkräfte und Multiplikator:innen gestärkt. Die Kooperation und der Lehraustausch im Rahmen der School of Education FACE durch die (6) Entwicklung und Implementation hochschulübergreifender und nachhaltiger Verwaltungs- und Unterstützungsprozesse wurde zudem auch administrativ-technisch für alle relevanten Akteur:innen von Lehrkräftebildung gefestigt. Schließlich fand eine (7) dauerhafte qualitätssichernde Begleitforschung und Evaluation zur Überprüfung der Wirksamkeit und Effizienz der eingeführten Maßnahmen, Strukturen und Steuerungsmaßnahmen statt. Die fortgeführte und intensivierte Arbeit der Freiburger Hochschulen mündete im Jahr 2019 in den Beitritt der Hochschule für Musik in die School of Education FACE als gemeinsame wissenschaftliche Einrichtung. Darüber hinaus erfolgte ab dem Jahr 2024 die finanzielle Verstetigung des Kooperationverbunds in der School durch das Ministerium für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kunst Baden-Württemberg. Dies ermöglicht den fortgesetzten kohärenz- und professionsorientierten Ausbau lehrkräftebildender Strukturen und Inhalte am Standort und die Sicherstellung einer evidenz- und wissenschaftsorientierten Ausbildung zukünftiger Lehrkräfte. The collaborative project “Freiburg Advanced Center of Education (FACE) - Researching Practice, Practicing Research” aimed at continuing the profiling and professionally and scientifically oriented optimisation of teacher education onsite, with a teacher education location consisting of three universities: the University of Freiburg, the University of Education Freiburg and the Freiburg University of Music. In addition, the project focussed on both differentiating and deepening the structures and contents already developed in the first funding phase of the QLB across all domains and phases of teacher education (i. e. training, induction, further professional development), in particular interlinking subject sciences, subject didactics and educational sciences, and theory and practice. To this end, seven sub-projects were carried out in the central areas of teaching, research/trainees, practice and structure. (1) In order to strengthen the coherence between the theoretical and practical parts of the programme, an interlinking concept of the university's educational sciences curriculum with the accompanying courses of the integrated semester practice phase, for which the University of Education is responsible, was developed and successfully implemented. To (2) additionally increase the profession orientation during one’s studies, particularly in the subject-specific parts of the teacher training programme, specific courses were developed in various subjects that provide students with subject matter knowledge that plays a special role in professional practice. (3) Inclusion and dealing with heterogeneity also remained central aspects of the project activities and were expanded to include the topic of “German as a second language”. The topics were also deepened in terms of subject didactics and concretised via newly developed teaching modules. To strengthen the vertical coherence of scientific knowledge and practical experiences, (4) teachers, subject scientists, subject didactics professionals and other stakeholders worked in professional learning communities on the joint development and implementation of inclusive courses. (5) Also, both the network of university partner schools and the range of science-based further education programmes was expanded and consolidated. The cooperation and teaching exchange regarding teacher education within the School of Education FACE through the (6) development and implementation of cross-university and sustainable administrative and support processes was also consolidated administratively and technically for all relevant stakeholders in teacher education. Finally, (7) long-term quality management, accompanying research and evaluation took place to formatively assess the effectiveness and efficiency of the measures, structures and control measures introduced. In 2019, the continued and intensified work of the three Freiburg universities resulted not only in the admission of the Freiburg University of Music to the School of Education FACE, but also in the financial stabilisation of its work from 2024 by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts. This enables the continued coherence- and profession-orientated expansion of teacher education structures and content onsite and the assurance of evidence- and science-oriented training for future teachers.
